Jess Hughes

Jess believes in combining Pilates' low impact muscle movements with any training regimen regardless of your goals or where you fall on the competitive barometer.

 

Jess is a native Houstonian and the founder of Citizen Pilates.   Her background in business and love for cycling evolved from an off-the-bike strength training hobby to Houston's fastest growing Pilates studio.  She believes in combining Pilates' low impact muscle movements with any training regimen regardless of your goals or where you fall on the competitive barometer. Jess's taco-centric approach to abs gives the studio a light and stress-free vibe for all seeking a total body workout with immediate gratification.

Teaching Style: Rhythm based Pilates focused on muscle tone and active recovery. 

When she's not running the studio, Jess enjoys eating at local restaurants and relaxing at home with her husband Tad... preferably with Italian roasted coffee in hand.   


Chelcie Smith

Chelcie's teaching style can best be described as Pilates reformer fitness meets athletic conditioning.

 

As a personal trainer, boot camp instructor and longtime fitness enthusiast, Chelcie likes to add a fun and innovative twist to all of her classes! With an energetic and easy going workout environment her classes will always push your limits and keep you wanting more no matter your stamina level.

Teaching Style:  Pilates reformer fitness meets athletic conditioning. 

Chelcie's contribution to Citizen is invaluable and as our Studio Manager, you'll find her either on the mic or behind the desk. When she's not at the studio, Chelcie is a full time student at the University of Houston completing her Bachelors in Human Resource Development.   


Amy Power

Amy's experience spans traditional Pilates classes and includes rehabilitative, pre and post natal training.

 

Amy recently moved to Houston from San Francisco where her formal teaching began in 2009.   Her experience spans traditional Pilates classes and includes rehabilitative, pre and post natal training. Her fun and energetic nature provides you the opportunity to strengthen your body and activate your core while aiding in common injury recovery and imbalances. 

Teaching Style: A slower paced class focused on traditional Pilates repertoire.  

Pilates and proper movement has helped Amy enjoy pain-free runs and bicycle rides.  When she's not teaching, Amy enjoys traveling back to the west coast to visit family and friends.  


Jennifer Pena

Jennifer's Pilates workouts effectively combine strength and endurance with a central core focus.

Jennifer's energy is nothing short of infectious.  Her workouts effectively combine strength and endurance with a central core focus.  Jennifer's ever changing choreography allows clients to transition smoothly between sets leaving no muscle group behind. Her knowledge of the body and its interaction with the reformer is the blending of art and science. 

Teaching Style: Rhythm based Pilates focused on fluidity for long and lean muscle tone. 

When Jennifer is not at the studio, she enjoys cooking for her family and friends.  


tatiana jabal

Tatiana is a native Texan with a passion for fitness and all things creative.  Her early morning classes are sprinkled with a touch of humor to distract clients from challenging holds and pulses; and her custom playlists make for a fun complement to Citizen's fun and fresh environment. 

Teaching Style:  A creatively choreographed routine designed for a full body workout with focus on slow, controlled movements.  

When she's not teaching or taking class at the studio, Tatiana enjoys cycling with her husband Tyler and spoiling her fur babies. 


tori lorenzo

Reformer class took Tori from zero to hero just in time for her wedding and she quickly transitioned into a fitness instructor!  Tori tailors her classes to individuals' strengths with focus on long, lean muscle tone and core strengthening movements.  

Teaching Style: Pilates reformer fitness meeting athletic conditioning with modifications and encouragement to leave you with a total body workout. 

When Tori's not on the reformer or at the barre, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
